Bailey and Denise have served with Cru for 40 years, 38 of them focused outside the United States. They have served in the campus ministry in the Ivy League and started an effective AIDS prevention ministry – CrossRoads helped share the gospel with approximately 12 million people in 65 countries. The Marks have worked in cities around the world since 2010, including leading an initiative in Washington, DC in partnership with National Community Church called Freshmen of the City – a strategy to help new city entrants adjust to the city, live their faith and share it for a lifetime. Approximately 1,000 “millennials” have graduated from Freshmen of the City. Denise has a Master’s in Communications while Bailey has an MBA.
In 2013, the Marks helped lead an initiative called The London Lab – an effort to integrate existing Cru strategies with local churches and cause them to direct their efforts toward reaching the whole city. As a result, in 2013 the Agape Leadership Team (Cru’s leadership team for Europe) challenged to the Marks to join the leadership team, move to London and lead Europe’s city initiative. The Marks lived in London until 2021.
Bailey continues to work with Agape Europe, serving on the regional leadership team, leading nine of its 42 countries as well as coordinating strategies used across Europe with the 42 countries. In the nine countries, he coaches national leaders and their teams to more effectively reach their countries with the gospel. Denise coordinates the LeaderImpact global team, helping staff and volunteers work with business leaders in over 50 cities around the world to make an impact spiritually, personally and professionally. LeaderImpact has a goal of engaging 1 Million Leaders in 1,000 Cities by 2030!
